The Royal Challengers Bangalore has one of the most explosive sets of players. This also makes it difficult for the management to select the playing eleven to strike the perfect balance. Aaron Finch is one of the most explosive openers in world cricket and there is no denial to that. His heroics along with Australian opener David Warner is hidden from none. RCB bought Aaron Finch in the auction last December and he seems like the missing piece in the puzzle for the team. The franchise management is yet to make the big decision of when will the batsman come out to play, at which position?
Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel have been the opening pair for the side in the past but shifting the best opener in the world down the under doesn’t make a lot of sense. On being asked about which two batsmen will be opening for RCB, Team director Mike Hesson chose to keep his cards close to his chest.
“It’s really interesting, I did a couple of hours of press conference but never talked about where Virat is batting or where Aaron finch is gonna bat or they’re opening the batting together. In reality from a director or coach point of view we wouldn’t wanna tell anybody exactly what our line-up is because that’s our strategy,” Hesson said in a video uploaded on RCB official Twitter handle.
The minute the team came out of a week’s quarantine in Dubai, we got our Director of Cricket Operations Mike Hesson to talk about RCB’s plans leading into #IPL2020 on Bold Diaries. Keep an eye out for the rumour he addresses.#PlayBold #BoldDiaries pic.twitter.com/2M1XTulmqP

“We’re well aware of what we want but we also wanna keep our opposition guessing,” Hesson further said.
Will Parthiv Patel or Virat Kohli switch with the Australian opener or will he just be put down the order, nobody knows. The IPL which is set to begin on 19th September is when we might get a few answers. The teams have geared up and are getting ready for the biggest T20 league in the world.
