Kieron Pollard brought the match close for Mumbai Indians as he scored 56 runs in 23 balls and smashed 5 maximums. All-rounder Pawan Negi, who was not a part of playing 11, was ubiquitous on the field catching 3 important catches which included skipper Rohit Sharma, opener Quinton de Kock, and all-rounder Hardik Pandya.
The match went to a super over as Pollard hit a four on the last bal as MI needed 5 to win. Navdeep Saini bowled a brilliant super over against the likes of Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard conceding just 7 runs. RCB started the chase as AB De Villiers and Virat Kohli looked to get their team past the line with Jasprit Bumrah trying to defend a mere 7 runs. Virat Kohli scored a boundary of the last ball to win the match for RCB and bag them important 2 points.
AB De Villiers was adjudged the man of the match who scored 55 runs and all-rounder Washington Sundar was awarded the game changer of the match for his bowling heroics which saw him concede 12 runs in his quota of 4 overs.
This win saw RCB reach the 3rd position in the table and saw Mumbai slip to 5th.
