Mumbai Indians (MI), one of the most successful franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history has always relied on a strong bowling attack to dominate their opponents. With the 2023 edition of the IPL just around the corner, we take a look at the top five bowlers who could be match-winners for MI.
Jofra Archer – The right-arm fast bowler from England was acquired by MI for a whopping 8 crore bid in the IPL 2022 mega auction.
Piyush Chawla – The veteran leg-spinner has been one of India’s top spinners for a long time and has taken over 157 wickets in the IPL.
Cameron Green – The Australian all-rounder made his debut for MI in the IPL 2022 and impressed with his all-round skills.
Jason Behrendorff – The left-arm fast bowler from Australia has played for MI in the past and was acquired by the franchise again in the IPL 2022.
Hrithik Shokeen – The young Right arm Offbreak spinner from Delhi made his debut for MI in the IPL 2022.
MI has a well-rounded bowling attack with a good mix of pace and spin, but the absence of Bumrah cannot be filled. However with the likes of Archer, Chawla, Green, Behrendorff and Shokeen, the franchise has the firepower to defend any total and take wickets at crucial junctures in the game.
