MI in IPL 2023: Sandeep Warrier replaces injured Jasprit Bumrah for this season

Sandeep Warrier, a fast bowler from Tamil Nadu, has been signed by Mumbai Indians to replace hurt Jasprit Bumrah in the IPL 2023.

“Sandeep Warrier, right-arm fast bowler, will join the Mumbai Indians squad as a replacement player for Jasprit Bumrah. Sandeep, who debuted for India in 2021, is an experienced player in the domestic circuit having played over 200 games with 69 of them in T20 format, taking 362 wickets in his career so far across formats,” Mumbai Indians said in a statement on Friday afternoon.

Warrier has participated in 68 T20 matches so far, taking 62 wickets. He has only played one T20I for India. He has played for Kolkata Knight Riders in five IPL games as well.

MI is without Bumrah after the renowned speedster endured back surgery and has been sidelined since September 2022.
