KL Rahul becomes the fastest Indian batsman to score 2000 runs in Indian Premier League (IPL)

In the match between Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore, skipper KL Rahul broke an eight-year-old record. He broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record to become the fastest Indian batsman to reach 2000 IPL runs.

Royal Challengers put the Kings to bat after winning the toss. KL also hit 50 runs in the match. RCB won their first match whereas Kings lost their first match in the super over against Delhi. This is the first season where KL is leading the franchise and hopes to make the side win more matches.

KXIP head coach Anil Kumble believes that Rahul poses the leadership that is needed to lead the team and might also go on to play a leadership role for the Indian cricket team in the future.
