Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Rajasthan Royals by 37 runs to register their second win of the campaign. The 12th match in this year’s IPL saw Rajasthan Royals winning the toss and asking Kolkata Knight Riders to bat first in a slow Dubai track considering the dew factor.
Kolkata Knight Riders opener Shubman Gill top scored scoring a solid 47 off 34 balls smashing 5 fours and a maximum. The middle order failed to light up the evening as skipper Dinesh Karthik, all-rounder Nitish Rana and Andre Russel were out cheaply without contributing much to the total. At one point KKR were struggling at 116-5 but a solid Eoin Morgan provided the much needed finish to take them to a score of 174/6.
Rajasthan Royals looked content with the target on the board with England fast bowler Jofra Archer the star with the ball scalping 2 wickets for 18 runs in his 4 overs.
In reply, RR struggled right from the get go. Tom Curran managed to score a 50 as rest of the RR batsman seemed clueless with only 2 others reaching double figures.
KKR youngster were on song as Shivam Mavi impressed with his bowling scalping 2 wickets for 20 runs. Kamlesh Nagarkoti scalped 2 important wickets along with a spectacular catch to dismiss the dangerous Jofra Archer.

None of the RR batsman expect for Tom Curran looked comfortable at the crease. They will hope that star all-rounder Ben Stokes is available for the next game which can strengthen the middle order to some extent.
