KKR coach Gautam Gambhir flies back to Delhi before IPL Final to cast his vote

A day before the IPL final in Chennai, Gautam Gambhir, the mentor of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), returned to Delhi to cast his vote. Gambhir has been a key figure for KKR this season, leading them to the final with strong performances and strategic decisions.

Since joining KKR this season, Gambhir has made significant decisions, including reassessing Sunil Narine’s role. Moving Narine to the opening position has been a game-changer, making him one of the most valuable players in the tournament this year.

KKR had a successful group stage, winning nine out of fourteen games. They defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Ahmedabad to secure their place in the final. KKR and SRH will face off again on Sunday, May 26, at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Outside the polling booth, Gambhir spoke briefly about the upcoming final, saying, “Fingers crossed for the final.”

KKR has beaten SRH twice this season. Their first match at Eden Gardens ended with a thrilling last-over win. The second encounter in Ahmedabad during Qualifier 1 saw KKR dominate SRH in every aspect.

Gambhir is now scheduled to travel back to Chennai to join his team for the all-important final match against SRH.
