West Indies’ veteran Jason Holder gets sold to Rajasthan Royals at INR 5.75 crore. Jason was among the top potential players with the base price of ₹2 crore.
Jason Holder was a member of the Lucknow Super Giants squad in the previous edition but was released prior to this auction. The long – legged all-rounder can be an asset to any squad. His batting and bowling prowess in T20s is well-documented, and he has a stellar record in the format. In T20s, he has 1758 runs at a strike rate of more than 125. In his T20 career, he has also taken 197 wickets.
Chennai Super Kings started off with a bid. It was a battle again between CSK and last season’s finalist Rajasthan Royals. They both weren’t giving up on the West Indies’ all-rounder as they missed out on their number 1 target Sam Curran. Sam Curran is the most expensive buy in IPL history so far (INR 18.50 crore).
