Rajasthan Royals takes hold of Indian leg spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal on their side for Rs 6.5 crores at the IPL Auction 2022.
Yuzvendra Chahal was set at a base price of Rs 2 crores. Royal Challengers Banglore (RCB) looked pretty clear of not retaining Chahal, they rather let Mumbai start the bid at Rs 2 crores. Delhi joins the bid with Mumbai at Rs 2.2 crores. It was a quick tussle between Mumbai and Delhi to gain Chahal. The bidding war went on to Rs 5.25 crores until Hyderbad joined the party and bid Rs 5.5 crores. Delhi didn’t proceed further, but Mumbai continued till Rs 5.75 crores.
It looked like a clean sweep for Mumbai in taking away Chahal until Rajasthan comes into action and bid for Rs 6 crores. Mumbai continued to bid for Rs 6.25 crores. Rajasthan bids further at Rs 6.5 crores and then Mumbai decides not to go ahead, letting Rajasthan have Chahal.
Having Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal in the same team, Rajasthan looks on the strong side now.
