The first player to go under the hammer in the TATA IPL mega auction 2022 was Indian Opener Shikhar Dhawan who was released by Delhi Capitals before the auction.
The batsmen will be seen in the new dressing room of Punjab Kings who went for the batsmen in the first bidding war of the day with Delhi capitals to get the player’s services for 8.25 crores. The bidding for the opener was started by his former side Delhi Capitals and in between, there were other parties interested too but the final bid was made by Punjab Kings.
The veteran opener will be a good addition to the Punjab side which has a brilliant opener in the form of Mayank Agarwal who will complement the style of Shikhar Dhawan.
