KKR opened their TATA IPL mega auction by retaining the Australian fastmen Pat Cummins who was not retained by the franchise before the mega auction and going with the likes of Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Venkatesh Iyer, and Varun Chakravarthy.
But as soon as the auctioneer Hugh Edmeades announced the name of the Aussie bowler, KKR was the first to pounce on the Player who had a base price of 2 crores as the other marquee players.
Pat Cummins was not so good with the ball for the franchise but was a crucial part of the KKR’s pace unit and also was handy with the bat. So KKR didn’t hesitate to go for their former player and secure his services for 7.25 crores
