IPL Auction 2022: Ishan Kishan sold for a whopping INR 15.25 crore to Mumbai Indians, becomes the second most expensive Indian player ever

India’s pinch-hitter Ishan Kishan was sold for a massive INR 15.25 crore to Mumbai Indians, becoming the second most expensive Indian player ever. CSK and DC bags in Ambati Rayudu and Mitchell Marsh respectively.

On the first day of the Mega auction, Ishan Kishan becomes the costliest player in the auction 2022 going for Rs 15.25 crore to Mumbai Indians. He also has become the second most expensive Indian ever. Bidding for Ishan Kishan started with a bidding war between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings. Punjab led the contest till 7.75 crores until Gujrat entered the contest at INR 8 crore. The war got immensely competitive, with Hyderabad entering at Rs 13 crore. At last, Mumbai successfully got back Ishan Kishan to the side at a massive amount of 15.25 crore. With this, Ishan Kishan became the second most expensive Indian ever and the most expensive player of the Auctions 2022.

Before this, Ambati Rayudu was sold to Chennai Super Kings for INR 6.75. After a bidding war between CSK, SRH, and DC, Chennai successfully got back Rayudu in their squad. Rayudu has been an essential part of CSK’s Top-order for the last few years, and getting him back on the team is a good sign for CSK. Rayudu’s experience and form in the previous editions of IPL can be of massive advantage for CSK.

Superstar of the Big Bash League, Mitchell Marsh, was sold to Delhi for INR 6 crore. SRH was the first to bid for Marsh, followed by a contest between Gujrat Titans and Delhi Capitals. SRH tried to bag in Marsh for INR 5.5 crore, but Delhi superseded them to bag Marsh for INR 6 crore.

Another surprise to the cricketing world was Afghanistan’s veteran cricket Mohammad Nabi and Australian wicket-keeper Mathew Wade going unsold in the auction.
