New Zealand cricketer, Daryl Mitchell who was set a base price of Rs 75 lakhs went unsold when his name came out at the first round of the IPL Auction 2022. Luckily, when his name came again in the second round, he was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 75 lakhs.
Daryl said in a clip shared by BLACKCAPS on their official Twitter handle, “It was a bit of a bizarre experience. I and my wife watched for a little bit last night. They didn’t pick me up for the first time, So we went to sleep thinking that it was done. Then I wake up seeing that I have been signed by Rajasthan Royals”.
The 30-year-old feels that it’s cool and he is looking forward to the experience in the next few months. He considers it to be the biggest T20 competition in the world and going out there, playing with some world-class players will help him to become a better player.
Daryl is looking forward to playing with the captain, Sanju Samson, and Jos Buttler. He is also excited to be coached by Kumar Sangakkara in the upcoming IPL 2022.
