Australian cricketer, Riley Meredith was sold to Punjab Kings for Rs 8 Crore in the IPL 2021 Auctions held at Chennai today.
In a two way bid between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings on the 24-year-old lad, Punjab got the upper hand and brought the young player.
With a base price of Rs 40 Lakh, the Aussie cricketer was sold to Punjab Kings more than 20 times his original price.
He made his TwentyT20 debut for the Hobart Hurricanes in 2017-2018 Big Bash League. In January 2021, Meredith was picked to be a part of Australia’s Twenty 20 International squad for their series against New Zealand.
