Vaibhav Suryavanshi was named Player of the Match after another explosive innings, where the 15-year-old once again changed the course of the game with fearless hitting against top-class bowling, including spells from Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood.
Fearless mindset against top bowlers
Suryavanshi said he focuses on the ball rather than the bowler, even when facing experienced names like Bumrah or Hazlewood. He admitted the quality of the bowler stays in the back of the mind, but his method remains the same trust his strengths and execute what he has practised. His approach has stayed simple and effective, which has allowed him to dominate early in innings.
Guided by family and coaches
He also credited his father and support staff for keeping him grounded. He mentioned constant reminders that the journey is long and focus must remain on process rather than attention or hype. He added that he prefers staying at the crease longer, as he believes his presence can finish games earlier, and getting out after a loose shot is something he takes personally.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi – 200 runs
Yashasvi Jaiswal – 183 runs
Dhruv Jurel – 176 runs
RR’s top-order batters are among the leading run-getters of the season so far, underlining a strong batting display from the side. Their form was once again on show in the win over RCB, where Dhruv Jurel and Vaibhav Suryavanshi played powerful knocks to help RR extend their winning run.
Rajasthan Royals went on to beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets, continuing their strong start to the campaign.
