Sudharsan drives Gujarat after early control

Sai Sudharsan led Gujarat Titans’ charge with a controlled 100 off 57 balls, striking 11 fours and five sixes. He set the tempo early and never allowed Royal Challengers Bengaluru to settle. His scoring areas were clear, square on both sides and straight when the bowlers missed length.

Gujarat reached 155 for 1 in 15 overs, scoring at over 10 an over. With six overs left, the question is 200 enough here or will they push beyond?

Gill-Sudharsan stand sets the base

The platform came from the opening stand between Shubman Gill and Sudharsan. They added 128 in 12.4 overs, the highest partnership for Gujarat against Bengaluru. Gill made 32 off 24, with two fours and a six, before falling to Suyash Sharma. The stand was measured early, then aggressive through the middle overs.

Gujarat were 57 without loss in the powerplay and crossed 100 in 10 overs, shifting gears without losing control.

Numbers back Sudharsan’s rise

This was Sudharsan’s third IPL hundred for Gujarat, now just one behind Gill’s four for the franchise. The gap is closing. Across this innings, he handled spin and pace with similar ease, taking on Krunal Pandya and the change bowlers in the middle overs.

The last five overs have already brought 51 runs despite losing a wicket. Jos Buttler has started quickly at the other end.

Gujarat are in control, but can they finish well enough to shut the chase out?
