A total of 1,355 players from 14 countries have officially registered for the IPL 2026 mini-auction, set to take place on December 16 in Abu Dhabi. The list features several global stars — but one major omission has caught fans by surprise: Australia’s Glenn Maxwell, who has not registered for the upcoming auction.

According to Cricbuzz, Cameron Green and Steve Smith headline the overseas names in the Rs 2 crore base-price category. They are joined by a strong international group including Matthew Short, Josh Inglis, Jonny Bairstow, Jamie Smith, Rachin Ravindra, Shai Hope, Akeal Hosein, and Alzarri Joseph. In total, 43 overseas players have listed themselves at the maximum base price.

The Rs 2 crore bracket also features prominent bowlers such as Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Naveen-ul-Haq, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Mustafizur Rahman, Gerald Coetzee, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Matheesha Pathirana, Maheesh Theekshana, and Wanindu Hasaranga.
However, Josh Inglis might be unavailable for a major portion of the season as he is scheduled to get married during that time.

On the Indian front, several well-known domestic names have entered the auction, including Mayank Agarwal, KS Bharat, Rahul Chahar, Ravi Bishnoi, Akash Deep, Deepak Hooda, Venkatesh Iyer, Sarfaraz Khan, Shivam Mavi, Navdeep Saini, Chetan Sakariya, Kuldeep Sen, Prithvi Shaw, Rahul Tripathi, Sandeep Warrier, and Umesh Yadav.

Only two Indian players — Ravi Bishnoi and Venkatesh Iyer — have opted for the top base price of Rs 2 crore.

Glenn Maxwell’s absence remains the biggest talking point ahead of the mini-auction, with fans waiting to hear whether he has opted out due to form, availability, or personal reasons.
