Rajasthan Royals’ 14-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi etched his name into the history books on Sunday by smashing the fastest fifty of the IPL 2025 season. Facing Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Suryavanshi reached his half-century in just 17 balls, breaking all records this year.
The sensational knock began with a brutal assault on veteran pacer Ishant Sharma, where Suryavanshi hammered 28 runs in the fourth over alone. He continued his fireworks against Washington Sundar in the next over, striking two more massive sixes and a four to raise his fifty in no time.
By the end of five overs, Rajasthan Royals were cruising at 81/0, with Suryavanshi unbeaten on 51 off just 17 balls, boasting a stunning strike rate of 300.00. His innings included three boundaries and six towering sixes, showcasing a fearless batting display against quality bowling attacks.
With this milestone, Vaibhav Suryavanshi now holds the record for the fastest fifty in IPL 2025, surpassing the likes of Nicholas Pooran (18 balls) and Abhishek Sharma (19 balls), who previously topped the charts this season.
Suryavanshi’s explosive innings not only scripted a personal achievement as the youngest player ever to score a fifty in IPL history but also highlighted the arrival of a potential future superstar in world cricket.
