IPL 2025, SRH vs MI: Mumbai strike twice as Ishan Kishan falls after Head; SRH 9/2

Mumbai Indians have taken complete control of the early exchanges in their IPL 2025 clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad, claiming two quick wickets inside the first three overs. After Trent Boult dismissed Travis Head for a duck, Deepak Chahar joined the act by removing Ishan Kishan for just 1 run.

The dismissal of Kishan came in bizarre fashion. A length delivery that angled down the leg was casually collected by keeper Ryan Rickelton, but after a late appeal and umpire consultation, it was ruled that Kishan had faintly edged it. The decision caught even Mumbai off guard, but they’ll take it with both hands as Sunrisers slipped to 9/2 in 2.1 overs.

Abhishek Sharma remains at the crease and has shown glimpses of intent, notably with a six off Boult. But with Nitish Kumar Reddy now joining him, SRH will need a steady rebuild to recover from this powerplay damage.

Mumbai’s bowling unit, spearheaded by Boult and Chahar, is extracting swing and keeping things tight, living up to their decision to bowl first on this Hyderabad surface.
