IPL 2025: Mumbai Indians’ Corbin Bosch prefers IPL over PSL, gets legal notice from PCB

South African allrounder Corbin Bosch has landed in legal trouble after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) served him a legal notice for breaching his contractual obligations with Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 2025. Bosch, who was drafted in the diamond category by the PSL franchise, opted out of the tournament after securing a last-minute deal with Mumbai Indians as a replacement for the injured Lizaad Williams in IPL 2025.

The PSL and IPL are set to clash for the first time, with the PSL running from April 11 to May 18 and the IPL taking place from March 22 to May 25. Bosch’s withdrawal has raised concerns among PSL franchises, fearing a precedent where players switch to the IPL after committing to the PSL.

The PCB, in its statement, confirmed that a legal notice had been sent via Bosch’s agent, demanding an explanation for his sudden withdrawal. The board also outlined potential consequences for breaking his contract and has set a deadline for his response.

PSL franchises have reportedly discussed implementing a ban on players who commit to the league but later opt for the IPL, as the league tries to secure high-profile international talent. The PCB had earlier shifted the PSL window to avoid clashes with SA20 and ILT20, but this move has now put it in direct competition with the IPL.

Bosch’s situation could become a test case for PSL contracts, as the PCB looks to enforce player commitments to its premier T20 tournament.
