Lucknow Super Giants rode on blistering knocks from Mitchell Marsh (72 off 36, 6 fours, 6 sixes) and Nicholas Pooran (75 off 30, 6 fours, 7 sixes) to post a massive 209/8. While LSG started strong, Delhi’s bowlers, led by Mitchell Starc (4-0-42-3), pulled things back towards the end.

Delhi’s disastrous powerplay

Chasing 210, DC were in deep trouble at 50/4 inside the first six overs. The early wickets of Jake Fraser-McGurk (1 off 2), Abishek Porel (0 off 2), Sameer Rizvi (4 off 4), and Axar Patel (22 off 11) put them on the back foot. Just when things looked bleak, Tristan Stubbs (34 off 22, 2 fours, 1 six) and Vipraj Nigam (39 off 15, 5 fours, 2 sixes) counterattacked, rebuilding the innings and keeping the chase alive. This was joined by Ashutosh Sharma who came in as an impact substitute and neared Delhi to the winning mark. He hit 5 boundaries and 5 maximums and build an important partnership with Vipraj.

Ashutosh Sharma’s heroics seal the win

With 6 needed off the last over, Ashutosh Sharma held his nerve, smashing Shahbaz Ahmed for a six to finish the game in style. His unbeaten 66 off 31 balls ensured Delhi chased down the mammoth total with three balls to spare.

A night to forget for LSG’s bowlers

LSG’s bowlers struggled under pressure, with Ravi Bishnoi (4-0-53-2) and Prince Yadav (4-0-47-0) proving expensive. However, with just two overs Shardul Thakur took 2 wickets in his very first over and M Siddharth also took one wicket in the powerplay.

This thrilling win marked Delhi Capitals’ highest successful chase in IPL history, showcasing their batting depth and resilience.
