Buttler, who had already looked in imperious touch, took apart Starc in an over that yielded 20 runs. Starting from 14.1, Buttler struck the Australian left-arm pacer through extra cover, backward point, third man, mid-off, and deep square leg—each boundary showcasing a blend of timing, placement, and brute force. The fifth four, albeit a mishit, flew past a diving fielder and added to DC’s growing woes.
Despite suffering from cramps midway, Buttler powered through, reaching 82* off just 46 balls, with 10 fours and three sixes. Earlier, Delhi Capitals posted 203/8, riding on a collective batting effort. But Buttler’s counterattack—especially against Starc who had been DC’s hero in their last outing—has turned the tide in dramatic fashion.
