Royal Challengers Bengaluru landed another key blow in the IPL 2025 final as Romario Shepherd dismissed Punjab Kings’ Shreyas Iyer, further tilting the contest in RCB’s favour.

In the 10th over of Punjab’s chase of 191, Shepherd bowled a short-of-length delivery outside off stump. Iyer, looking to force the pace, attempted a cut shot but only managed a thin edge. Wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma took a sharp catch behind the stumps.

Interestingly, the appeal wasn’t upheld by the umpire, but Iyer, showing great sportsmanship, chose to walk. He departed for just 1 off 2 balls, leaving Punjab in trouble at 79/3 after 9.4 overs.

At the halfway mark of the chase, Punjab Kings still need 112 runs off 62 balls, with the required run rate climbing. With three wickets already down, the pressure is mounting as RCB’s bowlers tighten their grip on the final.
