The IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings saw a moment of brilliance in the field as Phil Salt pulled off a stunning boundary catch to dismiss Priyansh Arya, giving RCB a crucial breakthrough.

In the 5th over of Punjab’s chase of 191, Josh Hazlewood bowled a short delivery that Arya attempted to pull. The ball seemed destined to clear the fence, but Salt, stationed at deep backward square leg, sprinted to his right and timed his jump to perfection.

In a moment of superb composure and athleticism, Salt caught the ball near the ropes. Realising his momentum was carrying him over the boundary, he smartly released the ball mid-air before stepping across, and then completed the catch cleanly after regaining balance. The crowd erupted as replays confirmed it was a legal dismissal.

Arya, who was batting fluently on 24 off 19 balls (4 fours), looked visibly frustrated as Punjab Kings slipped to 44/1 in 4.6 overs.

The timely wicket has given RCB hope of pulling things back as Punjab now needs 147 more runs from 89 balls to win the title.
