On Monday, RCB are gearing up for the big fight with Punjab Kings at Bangalore’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium. RCB will be looking to get off on the right foot in this the second week of their campaign for victory and then strike early on in terms of points.
In their first match, RCB was on rough ground early. Although Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik staged rousing performances in good innings, some of the regulars failed to get good scores, such as Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell.
In addition, the RCB bowling lineup was in trouble, especially with Mohammed Siraj and Alzarri Joseph. Siraj’s inconsistencies in both line and length as well as Joseph’s unimaginative, body line bowling saw both of them record unimpressive figures. This last point could be used to keep the team’s management up at night.
In view of this, RCB may decide to rejig their XI for the match against Punjab Kings that is about to take place. One option they could think about is bringing in Lockie Ferguson to replace Alzarri Joseph for this big encounter.
The recent T20I series against Australia confirms that Ferguson is in much better bowling form than Joseph, so the timing would make perfect sense. On the probating track in Bangalore, there should be a good sense of death bowling presence to challenge Punjab’s sixers.
