
Sandeep Sharma has been signed to replace Prasidh Krishna by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) for the IPL 2023 season. Krishna has been ruled out of the tournament due to a stress fracture he has not recovered from. Krishna took 19 wickets, finishing the season as RR’s second-highest wicket-taker behind Yuzvendra Chahal. As a replacement for him, RR has brought in pacer Sandeep Sharma. Sandeep was selected for his base price of INR 50 lakh, making him one of the oldest bowlers participating in the competition.

Sandeep Sharma has extensive Indian Premier League experience. Right-arm pacer, specialising in new-ball bowling, has troubled some of the world’s best batters during his IPL career. Previously, Sharma played for the Punjab Kings and SunRisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.

Due to his impressive performances during his time with Punjab, Sandeep was called up to the Indian team. He has played in one T20 International and taken one wicket. He made his international debut during India’s 2015 tour of Zimbabwe. In Sandeep’s final season with Punjab, he scored 17 wickets in 13 games. His 104 appearances in the IPL have led to the opening of 114 doors.
