Jason Roy put on a spectacular show during the power-play session in the match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) with a smashing display of sixes. In the 6th over, Roy hit three consecutive sixes and followed it up with another six after a dot ball. He managed to score 25 runs in just five deliveries, taking the score to 66 for no loss in the power-play session.
With KKR already off to a decent start, Roy decided to take the attack to the bowler. The first ball of the over was pitched on the pads, and Roy just chipped it over the infield for a six. The next ball was similar, but this time Roy sat on his back knee and slog-swept the ball powerfully over midwicket for another six.
The third ball was perhaps the most impressive of the lot. Shahbaz Ahmed bowled a short delivery on leg-stump, and Roy pulled it hard. While the ball was a mishit, it still had enough power to clear the fielder and go for a six. With three sixes in a row, Roy had completed a hattrick of sixes, and the crowd was on its feet.
After facing a dot ball, Roy once again went for a six. This time, Shahbaz Ahmed bowled a full delivery at the stumps, but Roy was up to the task. He cleared his front leg and smashed the ball over long-on for another six. With four sixes in the over, Roy had taken KKR to a position of strength.
