Indian cricket star Virat Kohli will lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team for the third time in IPL 2023, as Faf du Plessis is still unfit for fielding. However, du Plessis will play as an impact player and open the batting for RCB. Kohli won the toss and chose to bowl first, as he believes his team can chase down any target set by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the second half of the tournament. Kohli praised the pitch and said it was a “no-brainer” to bowl first, given the expected conditions at the Chinnaswamy stadium.
KKR captain Nitish Rana, on the other hand, acknowledged that the second half of the tournament has started and this is an important game for his team. He added that KKR has played some good cricket and some not so good, and it’s time for them to step up. Rana emphasized that if they play well collectively, the result will be in their favor.
KKR has made one change from the last match, with Vaibhav Arora coming in for Kulwant Khejroliya. Rana also revealed that they were going to bat first, and they have had unforced changes in the previous games, with Shardul Thakur and Rahmanullah Gurbaz having niggles.
