IPL 2023: Rajasthan Royals’ openers dominate power-play session; smash 64 Runs in 6 Overs against Chennai Super Kings

Rajasthan Royals (RR) have once again showcased their dominance in the power-play session in their ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) game against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The usual opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler smashed 64 runs in just 6 overs, setting the stage for a formidable total.

The first over of the match saw pacer Akash being hit for three fours, with Buttler managing to smash 10 runs off Tushar Deshpande’s bowling. Jaiswal, who had been in excellent form throughout the tournament, targeted Akash in the third over, smashing 18 runs and putting the pressure on the CSK bowlers.

In an unusual sight, CSK lost a review for an LBW appeal against Jaiswal, with MS Dhoni’s DRS going wrong. This was a clear indication of the kind of pressure that the Rajasthan openers were putting on the opposition.

Despite conceding 42 runs in the first 3 overs, CSK managed to restrict the RR duo to just 22 runs in the last three overs of the power play.
