The ongoing game between the Gujarat Titans and the Delhi Capitals has been a one-sided affair so far. The Titans, who are table toppers, have come out all guns blazing, while the Capitals, who are at the bottom of the points table, have struggled to find their footing.
One of the standout performers in this game has been Mohammed Shami, who has been in sublime form. He has been able to swing the ball both ways, troubling the Delhi Capitals batsmen from the very beginning of their innings.
Shami’s first wicket came in the very first ball of the game, when he got Philip Salt caught by Miller. Salt, who was looking to play an aggressive shot, ended up skying the ball to Miller at cover, resulting in a golden duck for him.
Shami’s second wicket was equally impressive, as he got Rossouw caught by Saha. It was a classic Test match delivery, which landed on a good length and swung away late from Rossouw, resulting in a thick outside edge that was caught by Saha.
Shami’s third wicket was that of Manish Pandey, who was caught by Saha as well. Pandey, who was trying to play an aggressive shot, ended up edging the ball to Saha, who took a stunning one-handed catch to dismiss him.
Shami’s fourth wicket was that of Priyam Garg, who was caught by Saha yet again. Garg, who was trying to play a cover drive, ended up edging the ball to Saha, who took yet another catch.
Apart from Shami’s impressive performance, the Delhi Capitals have also had a disastrous start with their top order failing to deliver. They have lost 5 wickets so far, with one of them being a run-out from Rashid Khan.
The Capitals will need to regroup quickly if they are to put up a fight against the table-toppers, who are looking in great form.
