In the ongoing IPL 2023 match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), rain has played a spoilsport yet again. Just four balls before the first innings could have ended, the rain started pouring down, and the ground staff had to bring out the covers to prevent the pitch and ground from getting damaged.
However, during this rain interruption, it was LSG’s fielding coach, the legendary Jonty Rhodes, who lent a helping hand to the ground staff. Rhodes, known for his athleticism and agility on the field during his playing days, joined the ground staff in pulling the covers and ensuring that the pitch remained protected from the rain.
Rhodes’ gesture not only helped the ground staff in their job but also won the hearts of the fans and spectators present at the stadium. Many took to social media to praise the former South African cricketer for his humility and willingness to help out.
