IPL 2023: KKR wins toss and opts to field; to play with unchanged team against SRH

The fans are anticipating the forthcoming encounter between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The historic Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata will host the game, and the anticipation is great.

KKR is coming into the game after a stunning win against Gujarat Titans, which saw Rinku Singh hit five consecutive sixes and guide the team to a target of 205 runs. Meanwhile, SRH achieved their first win of the season in their previous outing against Punjab Kings after losing their opening two games.

Kolkata Knight Riders have won the toss and have opted to field. Nitish Rana, the KKR captain, said, “We’ll bowl first. We’ve been practicing here and there has been dew. Keeping in mind, we want to chase. Same XI for today.”

Aiden Markram, the SRH skipper, was happy either way but would have looked to bowl first considering the trend. “This is a high-scoring wicket, so happy to get runs on the board. Nice to get a win, and today is a fresh start. Hopefully, we can do well. One change, Abhishek Sharma comes in for Washi Sundar. I don’t think we’ll set a target; you need to look at the pitch and then reassess. Whatever we get, we’ll try our best to defend,” said Markram.

The match promises to be an exciting encounter, with both teams looking to secure a victory.
