IPL 2022: Virat Kohli pens down a heartfelt message to the ‘12th man Army’

In their chase for the prestigious trophy, Bangalore set a 158-run target for Rajasthan Royals in qualifier 2, who won with 11 balls to spare with to Jos Buttler’s unbeaten 106.

Virat Kohli, the former captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, wrote an emotional message for the supporters on his Twitter page. He expressed gratitude to the “12th Man Army” and management for their unconditional support.

“Sometimes you win, and sometimes you don’t, but the 12th Man Army, you have been fantastic, always backing us throughout our campaign. You make cricket special. The learning never stops. A big thanks to the management, support staff and all the people who are part of this amazing franchise. See you next season,” he tweeted.

Kohli had a disappointing IPL season this year, as he was dismissed three times for a golden duck. He only hit 341 runs in 16 games this season, averaging 22.73 runs per game.

In the Qualifier 2 match on Friday, Royal Challengers Bangalore were dethroned by Rajasthan Royals, losing by seven wickets. Virat Kohli, on the other hand, has been unable to impress with the bat. Faf Du Plessis, the RCB captain, and Glenn Maxwell both struggled with the bat. Rajat Patidar was the lone survivor, scoring 58 points.
