Virat Kohli, who has 782 runs in the IPL versus Punjab, will have a tough battle against Sandeep Sharma. Kohli has been dismissed seven times by the veteran bowler followed by Ashish Nehra (6 wickets) and Mohammed Shami (5 wickets) . Sandeep has been the most successful bowler against him.
In 12 IPL matches, the former RCB captain has scored 216 runs at an average of 19.64 and a strike rate of 111.34. Three golden ducks, three single-digit scores, and only one score above 50 are not typical of a player of Kohli’s calibre. He is, after all, one of India’s most accomplished batters, having scored over 10,000 runs in limited-overs games.
Kohli has previously struck golden ducks against Mumbai Indians in 2008, Punjab Kings in 2014, Kolkata Knight Riders in 2017, Lucknow Super Giants in 2022, and SunRisers Hyderabad before stepping down as captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore before of this season.
After a dismal spell at No. 3, Kohli even tried his hand at starting for Bangalore in the hopes of regaining form. His first two golden ducks came at No. 3 against the speed bowlers, against the Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
