IPL 2022: “Terrible captaincy,” netizens slam KL Rahul ‘mismanagement’ of bowlers against Rajastha Royals

Rajasthan Royals scored 178 for 6 against Lucknow Super Giants in the 63rd league match of Indian Premier League.

Lucknow Super Giants’ skipper K L Rahul’s poor captaincy during the match against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday has outraged fans.

Having used eight bowlers for tonight’s game, KL Rahul let the seasoned bowlers like Avesh Khan and Jason Holder fail to meet their quotas, while Mohsin Khan and Marcus Stoinis were given more overs than them.

Avesh and Jason together conceded 32 runs while Mohsin alone gave 43 runs and Stonis conceding 15 runs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 41 runs off 29 balls helped RR score 178 for six in 20 overs, setting a target of 179 runs. Devdutt Padikkal, meanwhile, scored 39 runs off 18 balls for Rajasthan.

LSG are in second place in the points standings, one victory away from a top-two finish in their debut IPL season, while a win for the Rajasthan Royals will ensure their participation in the playoffs.

The KL Rahul-led side, which is now at second spot with 16 points, would not want to lose another game just before the start of the knockout round.
