IPL 2022: Shreyas Iyer plays his 100th match in the league today

Shreyas Iyer, the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders will play his 100th IPL match today during the 61st match of the ongoing season against Sunrisers Hyderabad at MCA stadium. He has three seasons with more than 400 runs and one season with more than 500 runs.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season, Shreyas Iyer has been in good form. Iyer has 336 runs at an average of 30.5 in 12 matches, including two fifties. Shreyas Iyer needs 4 more sixes to complete 100 sixes in the IPL.

In his IPL career, Iyer has indeed played for two teams. Prior to Kolkata, he was a player of the Delhi Capitals.

The skipper of Kolkata had a wonderful IPL 2020 season. This season, he delivered his greatest performance. In 17 games, Iyer scored 519 runs. During this season, his top score was 88 runs. He has previously performed admirably in both 2019 and 2018. In 2018, Iyer scored 411 runs in 14 matches. In contrast, 463 runs were scored in 16 matches in 2019.

KKR purchased Shreyas for the 2022 IPL season. KKR paid 12.25 crores for him. So far this season, he has scored 336 runs in 12 matches. Iyer had two half-centuries throughout this time.

The two-time champions are eighth in the points table with 10 points from 12 outings. In the IPL, the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Sunrisers Hyderabad have met 22 times. The KKR hold an insurmountable edge, having won 14 matches to the SRH’s eight. The SRH, on the other hand, won their most recent match on April 15, 2022, during the IPL.
