IPL 2022: Shikhar Dhawan justifies his selection in t20I with an unimaginable record; becomes second player after Suresh Raina to do so

He also became the second player in the IPL to reach 6000 runs, and the third Indian to get 9000 runs in T20 cricket, behind Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Shikhar Dhawan of the Punjab Kings has has become the second Indian following Suresh Raina to achieve 400+ runs in seven consecutive IPL seasons. Punjab Kings roped him in for 8.25 crores in the IPL 2022 mega auction.

Shikhar Dhawan, the seasoned cricketer who now represents Punjab Kings (PBKS), has been in the heart of things yet has gone nearly undetected. The irony is that, while Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s failings are widely discussed on a regular basis, Dhawan’s accomplishments aren’t.

He also became the second player in the IPL to reach 6000 runs, and the third Indian to get 9000 runs in T20 cricket, behind Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. In addition, the southpaw became the first player to reach 1000 runs against the Chennai Super Kings.

Dhawan, the league’s second-highest run scorer, is on the verge of becoming the first player to knock 701 fours in the tournament’s history. Dhawan, the league’s leading boundary hitter, has 696 fours to his name, with four more to get him to 700. Dhawan is far ahead of the next hitter, David Warner, who has 576 fours in 160 games.

Dhawan has scored the second-most runs in IPL history. His 6244 runs are second only to Virat Kohli’s 6592 runs, despite the fact that he has played 15 less matches.
