Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson enjoyed the first day of training with his new franchise Delhi Capitals. The all-rounder has already left cricket two years ago. Now, after a short break, he is now back where he belongs but this time in a different role. He posted some pictures of him on his official social media handle. He was seen in Delhi Capitals’ training jersey on Wednesday and was also seen talking with players.
Shane Watson’s also added a caption on Instagram. The caption reads, “So much fun to be here to help such a great group of young men.”
He was been named the assistant coach of the IPL franchise named Delhi Capitals. It was really surprising for the fans as Shane Watson has never played for Delhi in his whole IPL career but he chose the team after retiring.
According to reports, Shane Watson has decided to take up the coaching role in Delhi Capitals because of his old friend and former teammate Ricky Ponting. The former Australian legend captain Ricky Ponting is the head coach of Delhi and it seems he convinced Shane to come to this franchise and take up the role of coaching. Delhi Capitals will be playing their first game in IPL 2022 against five-time champions Mumbai Indians on Sunday, 27th March.
