Gujarat Titans all-rounder Rashid Khan claimed Shubman Gill is the only player he thinks would be difficult to bowl against after his team won the Indian Premier League for the first time by 7 wickets in the final.
Despite not taking many wickets, Rashid Khan was in good form in the IPL 2022, but his economy meant that the opposition was effectively playing a 17-over match trying to play out his overs. As GT won the IPL 2022 title, he took 19 wickets at an economy rate of 6.59.
Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jos Buttler, among the best batsmen in the world right now, prefer to play Rashid out rather than risk losing their wicket to him. However, his teammate Gill appeared to have been tough to bowl to such a deadly bowler.
“So proud to be here with him. With someone like him, it gives you lots of energy in the game. The way he played throughout the tournament was unbelievable so pleased to have him on our side. He’s the only one I was thinking will be hard for me to bowl to but luckily I have him on my side,” after winning the IPL at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmebada, Rashid stated on Star Sports.
In a tense 131-run chase, Gill remained undefeated on 45. To bring GT home, he formed vital partnerships with skipper Hardik Pandya and subsequently David Miller. In turn, it was Gill who struck Obed McCoy for a six to secure the match for his side.
