Moeen Ali of the Chennai Super Kings becomes the third non-opener to register a half-century in the Indian Premier League’s powerplay.
The English cricketer accomplished the record against Rajasthan Royals in the 68th match of the IPL 2022 at Brabourne stadium on Friday (May 20).
Moeen Ali put on an amazing show, smashing his way to the season’s second-fastest fifty in just 19 balls. Moeen was striking them well, but when he blasted 30 runs off Trent Boult’s over, all havoc broke out.
CSK finished with 75/1 after the powerplay, driven by Ali’s recklessness.
Apart from Moeen Ali, Suresh Raina of CSK (against Punjab Kings) and Wriddhiman Saha of Gujarat Titans (against Sunrisers Hyderabad) are the only other players to have reached this milestone.
Meanwhile, Moeen Ali’s half-century of 19 balls has people excited and heaping praises on him.
