Sri Lankan cricketer, Wanindu Hasaranga gets bought by Royal Challengers Banglore for Rs 10.75 crore at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.
The auction had to be stopped in between as the IPL auctioneer, Hugh Edmeades fainted while doing the bidding for Hasaranga.
Hugh was doing the bidding for Hasaranaga in the auction, and after the bidding went over Rs 10 crores, unfortunately, he fainted all of a sudden.
Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings were in a bidding war for Hasaranga. It was a tussle between both the teams as none of them wanted the player to let go.
The right arm leg break bowler started with the base price of Rs 1 crore, and his value just kept on increasing and went over Rs 10 crores. He was in the bid for Rs 10.75 crores when Hugh fainted and the event had to be paused all of a sudden.
RCB had last bidden on Hasaranga for Rs 10.75 crores and after the event resumed, Punjab didn’t continue the bidding war and let RCB have the player.
