IPL 2022: Jasprit Bumrah is four wickets away to become the first Indian to create this record

Bumrah also requires one further wicket to be the first Indian pacer with 250 T20 wickets.

Jasprit Bumrah of the Mumbai Indians is four wickets away from being the first Indian to take 15 wickets in seven consecutive seasons in the Indian Premier League.

Meanwhile, in the 15th edition of the cash-rich league, Bumrah seems to have an ordinary season. In 12 games, he has only managed to take 11 wickets, five of which came in a single match against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

His performances represent the Mumbai Indians’ woeful IPL 2022 season. With only three victories in 12 games, the five-time IPL winners are at the bottom of the points table.

Bumrah also requires one further wicket to be the first Indian pacer with 250 T20 wickets.

The Indian strike’s frontline recently had his greatest IPL stats against Kolkata Knight Riders. He bowled 5/10 in four overs to finish with good stats, but his team lost the match by 52 runs.

Bumrah, who was born in Ahmedabad, has taken 248 wickets at an average of 21 runs an over while conceding 7 runs an over. He owns 67 T20I wickets and 140 IPL wickets, with the rest coming at the domestic level.

Wickets by Bumrah in the league since 2016:

2016 – 15 wickets
2017 – 20 wickets
2018 – 17 wickets
2019 – 19 wickets
2020 – 27 wickets
2021 – 21 wickets
2022 – 11* wickets
