Patidar conquered the Eden Gardens on Wednesday, when his magnificent 112 not out helped the Royal Challengers Bangalore beat the Lucknow Super Giants by 14 runs.

In the IPL 2022, the young batsman extended his incredible form, blasting another half-century in the Playoffs. The 28-year-old batsman hit a 42-ball 58 against the Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 in Ahmedabad on Friday night, featuring three sixes and four boundaries.

The right-handed hitter has been with the RCB since 2021 but has not had many opportunities to show off his skills. Patidar’s reentry to the camp required a stroke of luck. It’s worth noting that the right-handed hitter drew no bids during the IPL 2022 mega auction. However, Patidar’s breakthrough occurred after RCB’s Luvnith Sisodia was hurt and the RCB squad chose Patidar to replace him.

Patidar has been approved to start at No 3 and play for RCB in the IPL 2022 season. In eight games for RCB, the hitter has hit 333 runs with a strike rate of 152.75.

Interestingly, the fiery batsman is well-known for his ability in the longer format, having already scored over 2500 runs in 39 first-class matches. In addition, the skilled hitter has appeared in 43 List-A games and 38 T20s. He has also recently reached 1000 runs in T20s, batting at a respectable 34.42 average and a high strike rate of 142.53.
