IPL 2022: Here’s why Dinesh Karthik has been found breaching IPL Code of Conduct; the player reprimanded

Dinesh Karthik has admitted to the Level 1 offense under Article 2.3 of the IPL Code of Conduct. The player has accepted the sanction.

Dinesh Karthik has been in top form leading to a comeback to the Indian team after the last world cup in England. The player has had ups and downs but in the IPL, Dinesh Karthik has looked promising and a bright asset for the Indian team while marching towards the world cup. The Indian team fell out of the previous world cup due to an unbalanced side that suffered a massive defeat at the hands of Pakistan and New Zealand. Dinesh Karthik will be making his come back to a fresh perspective of the Indian team under Rohit Sharma.

In the eliminator match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), the wicket-keeper batsman scored an unbeaten 37 off 23 balls. Karthik played an anchoring inning to take the team across the winning total of 200 runs. According to the reports, the player missed to make a contact with the delivery by Avesh Khan, and after missing the shot, the player was seen shouting at himself in frustration. Seemingly, as a result of which the batsman has been reprimanded for his action and has been sanctioned for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct.

“Dinesh Karthik from Royal Challengers Bangalore has been reprimanded for breaching the TATA Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Code of Conduct during his team’s Eliminator match against Lucknow Super Giants on May 25th at Eden Gardens, Kolkata,” the official statement said in a release.

“Mr. Karthik admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.3 of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” the statement further added.
