With 16 points and an NRR of +0.304, Rajasthan Royals is in a pleasant spot to be the third team to qualify. The primary fight is between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore for filling the fourth and the last place.
Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday will face the table-toppers Gujarat Titans. This will be a must-win match for RCB. With 14 points and an NRR of -0.323, RCB stands at the fifth position in the points table. The game is a do-or-die match for RCB to stay alive in the competition. However, their victory won’t decide their work in the playoffs. RCB’s fate would depend on Delhi Capitals’ match against Mumbai Indians on 21st May. In the points table, Delhi stands in fourth place with 14 points and an NRR of +0.255. The only way for RCB to qualify from here is to defeat Gujarat Titans and then rely on Mumbai Indians to defeat Delhi. As even if RCB and DC both win their respective matches, RCB would automatically get knocked out of the league, due to their negative NRR.
