IPL 2022 Final: ‘Captain gets captain’ for the second time in the history of the league

Pandya and Samson became the fourth and fifth non-international captains to lead a team to the final of the cash rich tournament.

Gujarat Titans’ skipper Hardik Pandya dismissed Rajasthan Royals’ skipper Sanju Samson for 14 runs, becoming only the second captain in the Indian Premier League finals to remove the opposing captain, following only Adam Gilchrist’s (Delhi Capitals) dismissal by Anil Kumble (Royal Challngers Bangalore) in the 2009 final in Johannesburg.

Rajasthan Royals are suffering against Gujarat Titans’ powerful bowling line. Rashid Khan dismissed Devdutt Padikkal for 2 off 10 as he fought to get going. With over 1 lakh spectators praising his comeback to bowling, Hardik Pandya dismissed Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler.
