The Mega event of the year, IPL 2022, is coming close. Ahmedabad has finally received the letter of intent from BCCI. Previously, Ahmedabad was looking forward to making Shreyas Iyer the captain of the time. But now, it has come into news that they are planning to appoint Hardik Pandya as the captain, though the information is not official yet. The biggest news that has been received is Rashid Khan going in Ahmedabad franchise.

It was speculated that Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rashid Khan would part ways. This speculation came true when Rashid Khan’s name was not in the retention list of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Firstly, Lucknow was in the talks to buy Rashid Khan, but they could not do so because Ahmedabad was not issued the letter of intent. After the issue of the letter, It is being informed that Rashid Khan is more likely to be bought by Ahmedabad, leaving a spot open for the overseas player. TOI recently reported on this, telling that new franchise of IPL Lucknow is in the talks with the Australian allrounder Marcus Stoinis and South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada. Both players were part of Delhi Capitals in the last edition of the IPL but have now been released by the side.
