IPL 2021: Umran Malik becomes the fastest bowler of the season, bowls a delivery at 153 km/h

In the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, the player from Jammu and Kashmir clocked another fastball at the speed of 153 Km/h and broke Loki Ferguson’s record of 152.74 Km/h for the season.

Umran Malik who made his debut just two nights ago for SRH has picked up his debut wicket for his team in the 52nd match of the season. Malik became an overnight sensation after his speedy spell in the debut match against Kolkata Knight Riders. In that match he bowled a very impactful spell in which he clocked the speed of 151.03 Km/H, to become the fastest Indian bowler in this year’s IPL.

However, the youngster was not going to stop at that. With so much potential oozing through him, he broke his record of speed in his very second match of the season. In the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, the player from Jammu and Kashmir clocked another fastball at the speed of 153 Km/h and broke Loki Ferguson’s record of 152.74 Km/h for the season.

At the age of 21, he is now the fastest bowler of IPL 2021 and it is no mean feat to achieve when you are partaking in one of the most competitive leagues of the world. Along with that, he also managed to pick up his first wicket for the season, in the form of Srikar Bharat, the wicket-keeper batsman. Bharat in the past two innings has managed to score steady innings to provide his team with the stability that they seem to be missing in the early stages of the tournament. By removing Bharat at the cheap score of 12 from 10 balls, Malik has given his team a great opportunity to win this game.
