The availability of David Warner for the second half of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season was under speculation as the tournament kicks off on September 19 in UAE.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s captain David Warner has announced that he has made him available for the second half of the Indian Premier League season which will now be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 19. The availability of David Warner alongside other foreign cricketers was under heavy speculations.

The former Australian opener made it confirmed by saying “I’ll be back”, on his latest Instagram post as uploaded a photo with his team jersey. As IPL was suspended indefinitely, amid the COVID-19 pandemic in India, he was dropped further in their final league.

The Australian contingents were not allowed to travel back home directly from India due to a travel ban imposed by the Australian government. The ban was lifted on May 15 and Australian players were flown home on a chartered plane arranged by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Alongside 36 Australian members of players, coaching staff and officials were taken to the Maldives soon after the Indian Premier League got suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly in the month of July had announced the remaining schedule for the rest of the Indian Premier League. A total of 31 matches will be played in a duration of 27 days, as the tournament will be played in Dubai, UAE and Sharjah as well. The Indian Premier League (IPL) kicks off as three-time champion Chennai Super Kings will play with five-time champions Mumbai Indians, with what seems to be the Clash of the Titans and the Battle of the Best.

David Warner’s Sunrises Hyderabad will start their second half of the season by playing with table-toppers Delhi Daredevils on September 22 in the Dubai International Stadium. Sunrisers Hyderabad has tough games later as play with Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings and end their campaign by playing against Mumbai Indians.

Sitting last on the points table, Sunrisers Hyderabad will be looking back to winning ways with the likes of Johnny Bairstow, Kane Williamson, Manish Pandey and all rounder Jason Holder, with the inclusion of spin trio, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi and Mujeeb Ur Rehman and fast bowlers like Bhuveshwar Kumar and Khaleel Ahmed.
