IPL 2021 Auction: Glenn Maxwell sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for huge Rs. 14.25 crore

The former Punjab Kings player Glenn Maxwell gets a new franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 for a huge 14.25 crores. Maxwell was released by Punjab Kings because of his performance in IPL 2020 which was played in the United Arab Emirates. He didn’t hit a single six in the whole tournament due to which Punjab Kings suffered to get in the playoff o9f the 13th edition of the tournament. Earlier he was picked by Kings XI Punjab for 10.75 crores when his base price was just 2 crore. Once again he gets the hug bid in the auction.

However, shown faith in the Australian player and bid for him for 14.25 crore. Maxwell is one of the most valuable players in IPL history. The base price of Glenn Maxwell was just Rs 2 crore but he gets a bid of more than 14 crores in the auction. The franchise needed a batsman that can do batting in the middle order. As he is one of the most dangerous players in IPL, the bid was no surprise for him. He was also one of the most highest-paid players in the IPL.

Maxwell is also the off-spinner and the team was looking for an all-rounder in team. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings fought for the attacking cricketer for so long but in the end, RCB won the bid. He could be one of the biggest guys in IPL 2021.
